Answer

**Player A.** Roberto Piccoli (Fiorentina), Striker B (percentile 62), against Sebastiano Esposito (Cagliari), C (percentile 40). Sebastiano Esposito has more non-penalty goals, but Roberto Piccoli creates more danger and shoots from better positions.

Context

Sebastiano Esposito holds 6 non-penalty goals to Roberto Piccoli's 4. Yet Roberto Piccoli generates double the threat (0.31 xG per 90 against 0.15) and takes higher-quality shots (0.12 vs 0.08 xG per shot). Short-term finishing can mask lower underlying shot quality.
